Baby's First Birthday Party? Consider This Plan To Hosting

Show your love to your new baby in a great big way with these party decoration tips and ideas.

The world just got a little more wonderful two days ago because last Saturday was a great day to jump up and say "Happy Birthday Eileen and her son, Jowell!

My boyfriend and I was cutting the papers, arranging the food, scrambling in the function room to set up my best friend's son first birthday party.

I particularly like the animal theme photo-taking booth as it was a great way to introduce your little ones to your guests in a party So, I made it plain for you to see here.

Furthermore, my boyfriend and I knew that there are a lot of details that have to be fairly synchronized and the party host will be panic for such a big undertaking. Thus, we ironed out a foolproof checklist for you to run a smooth party in future based on our own experience.

Three to Four Weeks Before

Have a plan

Start planning out the event flow. Think about the goodie bags, table arrangement, the venue and food setting area. Order buffet as it is the easiest way to go if you have more than ten guests.

You can do an interesting party by creating a theme. After you decided on the theme and the colour theme, measure the function room and gauge how many decoration items you want to purchase at either carousell.com/waikio, Lazada.sg, RedMart.com or Taobao.com. Getting the decoration items at these digital marketplaces is the most convenient way to find all items that match your theme and have it delivered straight to your house early.

Confirm your guest list

Determine how many people are coming to your house and how many are children. So, you can arrange some activities to lighten the children up. From there, ask people to help. When you ask guests to do a task, be very specific and tell them your budget. You can therefore steadily check off those goals and complete within your budget.

Create a menu

If you want a dessert table to satisfy the sweet tooth or your buffet doesn't come with dessert, create a dessert menu with up to 5 - 6 dishes. So you won't end up having many leftovers through weeks especially you are not into sweet treats.

When creating a dessert menu, consider a variety of colourful sides that will whet your guest appetite such as lemon cake, fruit tart, fruit fondue, pizza, brownie, potato chip, mango pudding, samosa etc.

Once your menu is set, write out grocery list.

Order the buffet menu with twenty per cent attendance drop off as children usually don't eat a lot.

One Week Before:

Grocery shop

There's nothing worse than missing out items last minute. What does this imply? Consult your grocery list and set out for shopping. To ease your burden, consider passing off dessert to a guest or a local bakery. Offer up recipe suggestions to the family member who can bake up a storm or cook appetizer.

Take Inventory

Enough casserole dishes or plates and silverware? Ensure that you have all of the essential serving plates before setting up the table.

The Week:

Set the table

Taking care of this task in advance saves you panic on the day. Have place cards ready if you want to split up the cliches, but keep small children between their parents.

Prepare the door gifts

Packing the items into the bag can reduce your workload on that day. Ensure there are spare goodie bags for unexpected guests that turn up, especially relatives are invited.

The Event Day:

Wake up early

Make an effort not to sleep in. You want to be ready up to an hour before guests are scheduled to arrive.

Keep food warm

Use the oven dishes to keep fried food or bake dishes warm in the oven 30 minutes before the party begins.

Prepare every corner of the party venue

Dress your party with the decoration items. Print out your party design plan and assign guests to decorate the venue for you. So, you can remove any precious objects or dangerous objects to save them from hyper children.

When the baby birthday party begun, we really enjoyed the time there. Besides the child-like atmosphere, we also sang for joy during their birthday cake session. It was a good reminder that children are a gift from the Lord Pslam 127:3. The party had filled our stomach with many of our childhood favourite snacks at the dessert table - ang kuk kueh, fruit tarts, red eggs and the must-have - potato chips, and of our course, the sumptuous buffet!

The children were also entertained by a balloon sculptor. They were busy firing balloon guns at one another while the parents and guests filled the room with chattering and laughter. Every guest left the party feeling satisfying, accompanied by many animal candy goodie bags and zoo animal balloons in their hands. That's how we celebrated my friend's son and her "wild" birthday.
